If you haven’t been following me or don’t know me yet, let me briefly introduce myself and what you can expect from this website (and blog) in the future.

I’m James. Hi!

Wait…that’s not all!

I’m a 29-year-old writer from Offaly, Ireland. Some people familiar with me probably know me from James With A Blog, a blog site that I used to run since 2015 throughout my time studying Journalism and New Media at the University of Limerick between 2016-2020.

This blog will be used as a part of a more extensive website than my previous websites, so the focus won’t be entirely on the blog. Still, I do want to hear from and see people here, so I will be posting at least once a week in the beginning to get an idea of what people most want to see on the blog and take it from there.

I will try to keep most posts down to a minimum word count but can’t guarantee that some won’t turn into big rants when I feel like I need to say something.

Anyway, I’m going to list ten facts about myself down below to get to know each other a little bit better; if you feel like telling me about yourself, please feel free to leave a comment down below. I’d love to hear from you.

Top 10 Facts About Me:

1. Musical Chairs champion since 1992.

2. I competed in Athletics nationally since 2008, won my first gold medal at the National Championships 2009 at 17 years old.

3. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and New Media from the University of Limerick in 2020. (Yeah, Class of 2020…great decision there, James) We all know what happened there – cough, cough – literally.

4. I got my name in physical print for the first time on December 5th 2019, as a sports reporter for the Limerick Voice 2019 when I had two stories published in the newspaper.

5. Favourite film – The Wolf of Wall Street. (Nearly three hours long, who wouldn’t love that?)

6. My favourite song is Space Bound by Eminem. (Also Rap God and Godzilla by same).

7. First Concert? Cascada in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, after Junior Cert results. Last Concert? Eminem at Slane.

8. Weirdest phobia? Balloons, to be honest. I’ve never liked them.

9. My coolest achievement is finishing in first place in the 2009 Athletics Grand Prix in Javelin, Discus and Shot Put – all three of my chosen events.

10. My favourite animals are dogs, then bears. I just always liked bears for some reason…
